Interior Art

This was a live art exhibit at the opening of an event for interior designers at Elegant Additions in the Heights.

Murals

When creating murals for art shows, dance performances, and yoga studios, I use traditional paint, chalk, push pins, post-it notes, and gold leaf (Sir Yantra).

The Post-It note mural with Wonder Woman was part of my Capes, Gods, and Superheroes show at Frenetic Theater. It consisted of 2500 post-it notes, took 60 hours to complete, and was focused on taking an everyday object like post-it notes and transforming it. The post-it notes eventually started to fall during the 6 weeks it was up, reminding us of the impermanence of all things.

Everyday Objects As Art

My mom was an artist. She died in 2016. In January 2017, I created a 365-day series of drawings using an everyday object, transforming it into another object. This was my way of celebrating her and grieving her. It was fun, too.

These sketches are a part of a series of turning everyday objects into art.

Ganesha Series

In Hindu culture, Ganesha is a remover of obstacles. People chant with devotion 108 times a day to have Ganesha remove their obstacles. 108 is a significant number as a complete cycle, and Fibonacci theorized that 108 is the wholeness of existence. In 2011, I started a series of 108 Ganeshas as my way of chanting with devotion to Ganesha. Every painting was charged with the intention of removing the obstacles for the person who bought or was gifted a Ganesha painting. The 108 series took two years to complete; my personal obstacle was removed a month after completion.

These are a few from my Ganesha series.

Yoga Postures

Anatomy drawings & my illustrated book were inspired by the book Light on Yoga, a book I was referencing during yoga teacher training.
