So many times our bodies are overusing the joints and underusing muscle. That's why I teach biomechanics.

Here we use downward dog as a way to strengthen the shoulder muscles, use less of the joint to hold the position and also take tension out of the neck and the trapezius (the area of the shoulder that tightens with stress).

Start gentle and, as you repeat this and gain more strength, increase the intensity as demonstrated in the video.
